Benefits of ACV for the Skin
Apple Cider Vinegar face wash has many benefits for the skin:
Antifungal, Antiviral and Antibacterial Properties
During the creation of Apple Cider Vinegar, substances such as malic acid are formed. This gives ACV antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties, which helps prevent skin infections along with acne. Washing you face with ACV helps in balancing the pH levels and is very effective in removing excess oil. It also normalizes the production of sebum, which ensures that the facial skin is neither too dry nor too oily.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids
There are strong alpha hydroxy acids present in Apple Cider Vinegar, which removes dead cells from the facial skin. This helps in revealing the healthier and fresher skin cells underneath that have a much beautiful complexion. The difference between ACV and other commercial face washes, that are much more expensive, are that they have miniscule amounts of alpha hydroxy acids while ACV has it in plenty for a much lesser price.
Age Spots and Warts
Apple Cider Vinegar is also known to be very effective in treating age spots and warts. In treating age spots, undiluted ACV is applied directly to the spots. Results are visible when applied several times every day for over a month. ACV is also mixed with fresh onion juice or orange juice for better results. It should be noted that applying the mixture of ACV and onion could likely sting. Hence, it is best to apply very little of diluted ACV and onion to an inconspicuous part of the skin to test sensitivity.
Apple Cider Vinegar is used in a different way to treat warts. The ideal way is to let a small cotton wool ball soak in ACV, and then to place the wool ball against the wart using a band-aid or a tape for as long as possible. This could be either done overnight or during the day. It would yield faster results if done round the clock, but remember to change it during the morning and evening. Many claim that the warts are cleared within a week, but it is advisable to continue the treatment for an additional week to ensure that the wart doesn’t return. It is also to be noted that the wart turns black before it falls off.
Consuming ACV Internally
Apple Cider Vinegar is also effective and good for skin when consumed internally. This is mainly because of its ability to aid in detoxification and elimination of waste. Poor detoxification and digestion are the main causes of poor skin, and ACV addresses this. Toxins are eliminated from our bodies through the liver but when the liver is overworked or strained due to poor digestion, it tries get rid of the toxic through the skin. This affects the skin negatively. As ACV aids in elimination of waste and detoxification, it has direct effect on the skin. It is best to consume ACV two times a day: morning and evening. A glass of water mixed with two tablespoons of ACV must do the trick. It is shown that ACV improves the tone and complexion of the skin.
