Continuing our quest on finding and showing the world some of the most beautiful and interesting models out there that for some reason are not mainstream, yet are working hard and dare we say even more than most supermodels. In today’s article, we will introduce you to Aussie beauty Alexandra Agoston.
Alexandra is a star of countless editorials for most of the worlds fashion magazines, she has walked for biggest names in the industry and keeps to enchant us with her ever-evolving chick willowy figure and natural beauty.
Alexandra started her career when she was just an Australian teenager on a fun French family holiday when she was discovered by ever lurking Parisian scout’s. The trip was fated as Alexandra became one of the long-lasting models of fine quality in the fashion industry, now she is, well a veteran in the industry as she has worked non-stop for 16 years.
Alexandra was discovered in Paris but she debuted in New York, walking for Boudicca, Monique Lhuillier, Proenza shows among many others.
At the very start of her incredible career, Alexandra managed to enchant likes of Jean-Paul Gaultier whom she first met when she was only 17. Every fashion designer will tell you the bond between a model and the idea of their perfection needs to be in line for every piece of the puzzle to fit, and for Paul, it happened to be Alexandra among others, she lasts after 10 years of collaboration.
Gaultier was fascinated by the modesty and eloquence of the young model. He explained that he met her when she was just starting her first season in Paris and how the physical beauty was not the only thing that struck him, it was also her eloquence. Gaultier said how he would often see her writing or reading books backstage which was a sight indeed, a beautiful model and smart as well – of course, she ended up being his muse.
Models are often described as snobs, unfriendly, and number of synonyms follow them around which we shall not name – well Alexandra is a proof of them just being bad stereotypes, she is down to earth and extremely friendly and well mannered model who because of that behaviour lasts as long as she does and is one of the longest walking runway models in the industry, yet she is still so fresh and so worthy of us writing this article about her. That is a true models magic.
When Alexandra is not modeling she is doing what every eloquent model should do, surrounding herself with art of course. This 181 tall model is an art collector with a soft spot for Gustav Klimt.
Australian beauty is aware of the troubles her Aboriginal compatriots have gone through true history, therefore, is actively involved with a charity that is fighting for the preservation of documentaries that are about them. A good and worthy cause.
When it comes to her personal life she keeps it tucked away from the public eye but we did manage to find out that she is in a lasting relationship with photographer Chris Colls.
Alexandra definitively is the type of model new generations should look up to if they are planning on lasting in the industry that changes as fast as it does. Being kind, well mannered is in essence a necessity, looking as good as Alexandra does help, but to catch a heart of so many people you often need more than physical beauty, it is how you carry yourself that sends a message to future employers and people to whom you are selling either fashion items or image alone.
