A New York based app developed by a startup company, Craze, surfaced some ground-breaking technology and Kim Kardashian has joined as an ambassador. Digital retail shopping app, ScreenShop has made online shopping so much easier. Have you ever been scrolling through your Instagram feed admiring outfit after outfit hoping the poster tagged or @’d where they were able to get the pair of red boots or lightweight jacket you like so much? Well, ScreenShop converts any screenshot into a redirection of similar clothing ideas with participating retail partners online.

Users can scroll through the mix of high and low fashion brands that are similar to the screenshot provided and shop like styles.

“This is a new fashion app. The technology is insane and I think you guys are going to love it,” said Kim Kardashian. Kim took to her snapchat to give a mini tutorial on how the app works. Kim shared, “You can find any photo on the internet, you screenshot it, a notification comes up from the app, and it’s you every look that is similar to the look that was in the picture. So if you see something somewhere and you’re like oh my god I want that, all you have to do is screenshot it. You can pick any look including screenshotting an old movie.” Kim screenshotted several looks from her very own Instagram feed and similar coats, beanies, and shoes popped up.

This app has been in the works for a year and a half and we are excited to show you how it works!

  2. Sign up with your name and email
  3. Allow the app to have access to your photos
  4. Allow pop-up notifications

We tested the app out for ourselves and we are in love with this technology. Here’s what we found:

With our screenshot testing, Screenshop gave us the option of choosing similar styles, prices ranging from low to high, high to low. and by brands only. We screenshotted a post from Kim’s Instagram feed. We also screenshotted photos from sites not related to Kim to see if the results would vary, but results in fact stayed the same. Vogue’s Demi Moore image fed us similar black blazers with an inexpensive match from Mango Outlet for $29.99. Jewelry also gets recognized. Amanda Seales earring photo opp shot results from luxury and affordable brands such as Bloomingdales’s, Carolee, JCPenney, and Neiman Marcus. Try this app for yourself and let us know your thoughts!
