First dates are always nerve-racking. You don’t know what you are getting into and this can mess you up. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. First dates are all about being yourself and getting to know each other. It does not require much commitment. All it requires is you to be in the moment and make an attempt to understand the person sitting across the table while revealing as much as necessary about yourself. If you happen to enjoy the company you will come back for more. That being said, first dates are delicate situations. If you don’t play it right, then you might as well say goodbye to the second date. So, here are some things to do on your first date to ensure it goes smoothly and you get that second date.
1. Say “No” To Movies
The idea that movies make for a good date night is a myth. In fact, it is the dead opposite. It completely kills any potential of getting to know the other person. The two of you are staring at a giant screen instead of interacting with each other. Therefore, movies are best reserved for later dates and not the first date. That is, once you have known each other well and you don’t need to talk to be with each other. So, a movie on the first date is an absolute No-No.
