Wear more color
Lets try to leave black in 2017. Regardless of the season or how cold the weather in your city might be, bring out some color. Wear a bright pink shirt to the office, break out those blue pointed heels, or tie that fire red scarf around your head.
Take more outfit risks
Step out of your comfort zone. Wear a skirt you normally wouldn’t wear, buy a deep-plunge blouse, or even rock a blazer with a corky pattern on it.
Find new ways to wear clothing you already have
Instead of purchasing a new outfit for every occasion or event, take what you have and re-wear it. Tie your scarf around your waist instead of your neck, wear your skirt with a shirt tucked in then another outfit with a shirt tucked out. Do you have a favorite solid-colored top? Wear it with matching pants or a pair with high contrast hues.
Clean out your closet more often
Set a few hours aside every other month and take a look at what is in your closet. Ask yourself when the last time was that you wore each piece and if you are just hoarding articles of clothing you have not or do not have intentions of wearing, toss it. Donate any items you are getting rid of to local women or men shelters rather than just throwing it away.
Buy clothing you really love
Rather than throwing the entire clearance rack in your shopping cart, go through each section and strive to only purchase products you absolutely love. If you buy an item you absolutely love you are more likely to wear it as opposed to letting it sit and collect dust just like the other impulse purchases.
Wait for sales and discount codes
Sponsored emails can be a bit annoying but when your favorite clothing company offers you a 30% code, take it! Leave buying things for full price in 2017. Companies are constantly offering special offers as well as their trusted ambassadors giving out their special discount codes, so save money where ever you can!
Don’t buy new clothes before traveling
Why waste your money buying new clothes just to wear on vacation? Take what you currently own and revisit style resolution number three. No sense in spending your money on pieces you are going to wear once on vacation and probably never revisit. Save yourself some coins and work with what you already have.
Build a wardrobe and stick to it – no outside spending
Continuously purchasing new clothing or shoes just to have your closet full – put a halt to that bad habit. Build your wardrobe to a point where you have every item and color you could possibly need, then let your wardrobe sit until a season change or two for when you need an update.
These tips are not only to help you keep organized, but to also help you save money. Happy New Year style warriors!
